Steve DeOssie is a former professional American football player who played as a linebacker in the National Football League (NFL) for 12 seasons. He was born on November 22, 1961, in Boston, Massachusetts.
DeOssie played college football at Boston College and was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the 1984 NFL Draft. He played for the Cowboys from 1984 to 1987 before joining the New York Giants in 1989. DeOssie played for the Giants from 1989 to 1993 and then spent a season with the New York Jets in 1994 before retiring from the NFL.
After his football career, DeOssie worked as a sports analyst and commentator for various media outlets. He also became a certified financial advisor and founded his own financial planning firm. DeOssie is known for his involvement in various charitable and community endeavors in the Boston area.
Steve DeOssie is also the father of Zak DeOssie, who played as a long snapper for the New York Giants for 13 seasons in the NFL.
